1. Who is responsible?
Jois Real Estate & Property Limited (“Jois”, “we”, “us”) operates Jois Property Hub. Jois is intended to serve property owners, agents, landlords, tenants, buyers, investors and professional partners in Nigeria and other markets where the service is made available.
2. Information we may collect
- Account details: name/display name, email address, password hash, phone number, and email/phone verification status.
- Property and business details: listing descriptions, location, prices, images, ownership or business verification information, company details and authorized listing-feed information.
- Service activity: property inquiries, saved preferences, referrals, reviews, tenant/lease records, finance applications, support requests and account security events.
- Payment records: transaction references, amounts, currency, status, subscription status and limited provider response data. Payment providers may collect payment details directly.
- Technical data: device/browser information, session and security logs, and service analytics used to operate and protect the platform.
3. Why we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts; verify contact details; publish and moderate listings; connect buyers and sellers; manage inquiries, partners and referrals; process or reconcile payments when enabled; provide support; prevent fraud and abuse; meet legal obligations; and improve service reliability.
4. Legal basis and choices
Where applicable, processing is based on providing the service you request, steps taken at your request, legitimate interests such as fraud prevention and platform security, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent where consent is the basis, without affecting earlier lawful processing.
5. Email and phone verification
Email verification links and SMS one-time codes help confirm control of contact details and protect accounts. SMS verification may be delivered by Twilio. Do not share verification codes. Verification of an email address or phone number does not verify a person's identity, property ownership, title, or authority to sell.
6. Payments and service providers
If payment features are enabled, payment information may be shared with payment, banking, identity-verification, hosting, email, SMS and security providers as needed to deliver the service. Paystack and Sterling integrations are not represented as active until Jois has completed provider setup, testing and approval. Jois does not ask users to send card PINs, passwords or one-time banking codes to staff.
7. Property verification and marketplace safety
Listing review, partner verification and contact verification are limited checks described by the platform. Unless a separate written service explicitly states otherwise, they are not a guarantee of legal title, planning permission, structural condition, seller authority, investment performance, or freedom from fraud. Users should conduct independent due diligence and obtain professional legal advice before property transactions.
8. Sharing and international transfers
We may share information with service providers, counterparties you choose to contact, authorized staff, professional advisers, regulators or law-enforcement authorities where legally required, and successors in a lawful business transfer. Some providers may process information outside Nigeria; appropriate safeguards should be applied where required by law.
9. Retention and security
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above, including account operation, security, dispute handling, financial reconciliation and legal recordkeeping. We use measures such as access controls, password hashing, session controls and verification limits, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights and account deletion
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, and raise a complaint with the relevant data-protection authority. Account deletion may require retaining limited financial, fraud-prevention or dispute records where the law permits or requires it. We should explain any such retention when processing a request.
11. Children
Jois Property Hub is not designed for children to create accounts or conduct property transactions. Please contact Jois if you believe a child has provided personal information.
12. Changes
We may update this policy as the service, providers or legal requirements change. Material changes should be communicated through the service or another appropriate channel.
